Sony announced today plans to start a new, interactive gaming program for the Playstation Network entitled Qore, which will provide gamers with news, developer interviews, game previews, and behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming games. The program will be hosted by Veronica Belmont. The initial episode of Qore will be available on Thursday and will feature content for Secret Agent Clank, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Soul Caliber IV, Afro Samurai, and SOCOM: Confrontation in addition to new themes, trailers for Blu-Ray movies, art galleries, and more. There will also be a beta offered for SOCOM: Confrontation.
Qore won't be free, however, as you'll have to pay either $2.99 per episode or $24.99 for an annual subscription to gain access. Those with an annual subscription will only have access to that month's episode and will have new episodes automatically added to their download list.
1up received a demo of the service and commented that it had frequent advertisements whenever they moved to a game's specific section. Sony hopes that the ads won't bother people too much because they are focused on products of interest to gamers.
