StarCraft: Ghost Put On HoldPosted 7:34am Mon Mar 27, 2006 by The Gaming Horizon Archive Tags: StarCraft Ghost, archive

In development for more than four years already, Blizzard announced today that the launch of the third-person variation on its popular franchise, StarCraft: Ghost, will be delayed even further as the company is considering releasing the game on next-generation consoles.

“Like many in the industry, we’ve been impressed with the potential of the new consoles, and we’re looking forward to exploring that potential further,” stated Mike Morhaime, President of Blizzard Entertainment. “In addition to allowing us to determine the best course for StarCraft: Ghost, this review period will help us lay the groundwork for our future console games.”

Though Ghost is an anticipated game (and Blizzard's first leap into the third-person shooter genre), its pause in development may be good news, as versions we played at E3 still seemed like they needed some extra attention. Look for an update soon on where SC: Ghost is headed, and when we can expect it to arrive.
